The Story Behind

Co-curriculum and Student Development Centre (CSDC) is established based on the Co-curriculum Centre of Universiti Putra Malaysia which is officially formed in August 2006.

The role and function of Co-curriculum Centre was expanded in January 2011 when the entrepreneurial element becomes one of the core functions and responsibilities of Co-curriculum Centre. With the expansion of the functions and tasks, the university has approved the Centre of Entrepreneurship Innovation and Student Development (CEISeD) as a new name to this Co-curriculum Centre.

Operating successfully for two years, once again the functions, roles and responsibilities of these Centres are reviewed and extended on the basis of the belief that the universities of achievement and recognition achieved by CEISeD. With that in February 2013, Co-curriculum and Student Development Centre (CSDC) officially replace the Centre of Entrepreneurship Innovation and Student development.

In an early age, since the establishment of Co-curriculum Centre until the empowerment of the Co-curriculum and Student Development Centre, this entity has received numerous recognitions, awards and also the trust of the various parties in the context of holistic student development and application of soft skills. One of the awards received is in Best Student Award category and Entrepreneurial Impact Award category in the MOHE Entrepreneurial Award 2012. A great deal of trust was also given to this centre in the lead of holistic student development such as appointed as Operations Management Office (OMO), Soft Skills Development by Ministry of Higher Education since 2010.

Now, Co-curriculum and Student Development Centre actively pursuing in character formation in an effort to produce graduates who balanced in the academic and co-curriculum achievements. Intent universities in producing competent graduate, competitive and able to move forward altogether with new products such as Co-curriculum Credited Course, Starting School and Finishing School.

To date, Co-curriculum and Student Development Centre, an entity of the UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), which is well known among the university community, especially among the DVC Office (HEPA) entities as a remarkable achievement. The name of Co-curriculum and Student Development Centre, UPM is not only always in the dictionary of others UPM entities, but also becomes a household name in many agencies, ministries and other public institutions.

As a proactive measure to go ahead and always be ahead, Co-curriculum and Student Development Centre, UPM carries out numerous rhythm desires to ensure it has a place in being the first HiCoE in the country which become a source of reference on the holistic student development across the country and the ASEAN nations.
