
17 May 2025 - The "Agriculture For the People" program organized by the Bakti Siswa Credit Co-Curricular Class Group 8 of the Co-Curricular and Student Development Center (PKPP) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in collaboration with the Basmi Kemiskinan Foundation (YBK) was successfully implemented at the Kasih YBK Dormitory, Serendah. This program also involved participation from the children of the Kasih YBK Dormitory, Serendah. The opening ceremony was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad, Director of the PKPP. Also present were Mr. Hazrie Minhat, Head of the PKPP Credit Co-Curricular Course Section and Mr. Sherhan Nizam Abdul Aziz, General Manager of the Basmi Kemiskinan Foundation.

This program provided early exposure to the children of the Kasih YBK Dormitory about the importance of agriculture as a source of knowledge and also the importance of environmental sustainability. In addition, it aims to foster noble values such as cooperation, responsibility and love for the environment among students and children of Asrama Kasih YBK, Serendah through activities during the program. For example, the decoration of the herb garden and planting gimmicks were completed by the Director of the RMPP, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad.
This program not only benefits the children of Asrama Kasih YBK, Serendah in terms of knowledge and experience, but also strengthens the strategic relationship between UPM and YBK in an effort to build a generation that is more aware of the importance of agriculture to society so that it can develop and elevate the agricultural field to a higher level in the future.
