Kuala Kubu Bharu, 06 March 2026 - Breaking the fast ceremony with the Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) was held at the Kampung Gesir Mosque, Kuala Kubu Bharu. The program, which took place in an atmosphere full of warmth and blessings, brought together various parties from agencies, organizations and the local community to foster the spirit of togetherness and strengthen brotherhood in conjunction with the blessed month of Ramadan.
The ceremony was also graced by the presence of representatives from the Universiti Putra Malaysia Co-Curriculum and Student Development Center (PKPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia. Among those present were the Director of the PKK, Mohd Mursyid Arshad, along with the Deputy Director of the PKPP, Dahlan Ismail Abu Bakar and other PKPP staff members. Their presence reflected the university's strong support for community welfare programs organized by various parties including non-governmental organizations.
Also present to enliven the ceremony was the Chairman of the Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK), Zainal Abidin Saikom, who had completed several important events throughout the program. Among the main activities of the event was the handover of rice donations to 100 recipients consisting of needy groups around the area. This donation is one of the foundation's noble efforts in helping to ease the burden of the local community, especially in the face of the increasing cost of living.
In addition, the event also witnessed the gimmick of handing over cemetery waqf land to related parties as a symbol of efforts to expand the benefits of waqf to the community. This waqf initiative is hoped to provide long-term benefits to the local community and be a form of continuous contribution to the social and religious development of the community.
Throughout the event, guests and attendees also had the opportunity to interact and exchange views in a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. Programs like this not only serve as a platform to break the fast together, but also function as a medium to strengthen the network of cooperation between agencies, welfare organizations and the local community.
The organization of this event is expected to continue to strengthen the relationship between the university, welfare organizations and the local community. At the same time, programs like this also instill the value of concern, volunteerism and the spirit of sharing sustenance among the community, in line with the noble values that are promoted throughout the month of Ramadan.
Hopefully, initiatives like this can be continued in the future as a continuous effort to empower community welfare, in addition to further expanding the benefits of waqf to the community. Through the cooperation of various parties, it is hoped that more welfare and community programs can be implemented for the well-being of the community as a whole.
