

Sungai Besi, 22 July 2025 - The Public University Co-Curriculum Council (UniCC) Meeting was held at the National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM). This meeting is an important platform that brings together the directors of the Co-Curriculum Centres from various Public Universities throughout the country with the aim of strengthening cooperation networks, as well as coordinating the direction of the implementation of credit-bearing co-curricular courses at their respective institutions.
Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) was also represented by the Director of the Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre (PKPP), Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad. His presence reflects UPM's commitment in ensuring that the implementation of credit-bearing co-curricular courses is always relevant, dynamic and in line with current policies set by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT).


Among the main agendas of the meeting was a discussion on the direction and improvement of the implementation of credit-bearing co-curricular courses which are increasingly challenging in meeting the current needs of students. The meeting also emphasized the importance of co-curriculum in producing balanced graduates in terms of knowledge, soft skills and personality development.
In addition, the meeting also discussed the proposed implementation of the National Service Training Program (PLKN) 3.0 at the Public University level. This initiative is seen as a strategic effort to strengthen discipline, patriotism, identity and leadership among students, in line with the country's human capital development agenda.
Overall, this UniCC meeting is an important platform to coordinate various policies and new proposals that can have a positive impact on student development. It also reflects the determination of Public Universities in strengthening the country's higher education ecosystem through more relevant, inclusive and forward-looking credit-bearing co-curricular courses.
