

UPM Serdang, 4 December 2024 | YBrs. Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad, Director of the Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre (PKPP) has completed the Flag Off for the Post-Flood Assistance Mission Series 2 which will be carried out under the umbrella of the KPT Ihsan Madani Squad, in collaboration with the University Volunteer Council of Malaysia (MASKUM) to ease the burden of flood victims affected. This mission will be held in Pasir Mas, Kelantan together with several other Public Universities.


This program involves twelve public universities and is supervised by UMK and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). In addition, the University Volunteering Council of Malaysia (MASKUM) and the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) also collaborated to launch this program.
The opening ceremony was officiated by the Chairman of the Board, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Dato' Dr. Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan at the Entrepreneurship Hall, UMK Kampus Kota, Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The ceremony was also attended by guests of honor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and Chairman of MASKUM, Prof. Dr. Norkhalid Salimin, acting Vice-Chancellor of UMK, Prof. Ts. Dr. Arham Abdullah, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, Member of the Board of Directors of UMK, Datuk Hj. Zaluzi Sulaiman, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (HEPA) of UMK, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ismail.


Kota Bharu, 5 December 2024 | The Ihsan Madani Squad KPT@Team Jiwa Putra Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) together with 12 other Public Universities were officially given the go-ahead to travel to flood-affected locations in Kelantan. The go-ahead event was held at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Parade Ground at 9 am, witnessed by guests of honour and university leaders.
The go-ahead ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) Board, Dato' Dr. Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan, who also gave a speech and encouraged the volunteer team. Also present at the ceremony were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), cum Chairman of the Universiti Malaysia Sports & Culture Council (MASKUM), Prof. Dr. Norkhalid Salimin, who expressed appreciation for this noble effort.
In addition, the ceremony was also attended by the Vice-Chancellor of UMK, Prof. Ts. Dr. Arham Abdullah, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, Member of the UMK Board of Directors, Datuk Hj. Zaluzi Sulaiman, as well as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (HEPA) of UMK, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ismail.


The Ihsan Madani Squad of KPT@Team Jiwa Putra Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has successfully provided assistance in the Post-Flood Assistance Mission Series 2 by carrying out cleaning work at the Al Aman Mosque in Mukim Gual Nering, Kg. Gual Sitok, which was affected by the flood. The volunteers arrived at the location at 10.30 am to begin their task in an effort to clean the mosque and surrounding areas that were hit by mud and flood debris.
As part of this humanitarian mission, the volunteers worked with the mosque committee members (AJK) who were also present to help clean the prayer room, courtyard, and the area around the mosque. This cleaning work is aimed at ensuring that the mosque can be used again by worshippers for worship purposes after being severely affected by the recent major flood.

With a high spirit of cooperation, volunteers from various universities, including UPM, showed their commitment to helping ease the burden of the local community. This Post-Flood Relief Mission Series 2 is part of the ongoing efforts to restore the affected areas, with a focus on cleaning places of worship, schools, and public facilities that were affected by the natural disaster.
The presence of volunteers and guests of honor at this release event reflects a high commitment in helping communities in need, as well as strengthening the spirit of cooperation between universities in Malaysia in facing humanitarian challenges.
