Dewan Putra PKPP, 14 August 2025 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) successfully held the Evaluation Session of the Jalur Gemilang Flag-Waving Competition in conjunction with the UPM Semarak Merdeka Program 2025. The competition was organized by the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and Arts Centre (PKKSSAAS) UPM, in collaboration with the Centre for Co-curriculum and Student Development (PKPP) UPM.

The evaluation session was graced by Mr. Husalshah Rizal Hussian, Director of PKKSSAAS UPM, who also led the panel of judges. His arrival, along with the other judges, was warmly welcomed by Mr. Dahlan Ismail Abu Bakar, Deputy Director of Student Development PKPP UPM, and Ts. Dr. Rozzamri Ashari, Deputy Director of Credit-Bearing Co-curriculum PKPP UPM. The cordial reception highlighted UPM’s strong commitment to fostering collaboration between its centres in the success of nationally themed programmes.

The judging session was carried out in a lively and spirited atmosphere, with active participation from various departments, faculties, and responsibility centres (PTJs) across UPM. The creative and innovative displays of the Jalur Gemilang reflected the participants’ deep sense of patriotism and love for the nation.

In addition to the judging session, PKPP UPM also organized a special performance and exhibition at Dewan Putra. These activities became the highlight of the day, adding vibrancy to the celebration while providing students with the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents and creativity.

This programme not only expressed pride in national identity through the waving of the Jalur Gemilang but also served as an important platform to cultivate patriotism, unity, and love for the country among the UPM community. The competition aimed to heighten awareness of the true meaning of independence, while strengthening the culture of appreciating the struggles and sacrifices of the nation’s heroes.

With the spirit demonstrated throughout the event, the UPM Semarak Merdeka Program 2025 once again reaffirmed the university’s role as an institution that not only emphasizes academic excellence but also shapes character, identity, and national spirit among the younger generation.
