PROGRAMME KAMPUNG ANGKAT MADANI@JIWA PUTRA 2025

Tanjung Karang, 4 August 2025 – The opening ceremony of the Kampung Angkat Madani @ Jiwa Putra 2025 Program, organized by the Centre for Co-Curriculum and Student Development (PKPP) in collaboration with the University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), was held at Teratak Aziz Banun, Sawah Sempadan, Tanjung Karang.

 

The ceremony began with a welcoming speech by Mr. Dahlan Ismail Abu Bakar, Deputy Director of Student Development, PKPP UPM, who also officiated the foster family assignments for participants. Among those present to show support were Ts. Dr. Rozzamri Ashari (Deputy Director of Credit-Bearing Co-Curriculum, PKPP UPM), Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar (Director of UPM Alumni Relations Centre), Prof. Dr. Sidek Abd. Aziz (Chairman of Sawah Sempadan Agro-Tourism), and Mr. Mohammad Jamshari Kasim (Chairman of JPKK Kg. Kunci Air Buang).

 

In the evening, the program continued with a motivational session titled “Positive Mind, Progressive Life”, involving local school students. The session successfully created space for reflection, sparked inspiration, and instilled positive values among participants in line with the spirit of Berilmu Berbakti (Knowledgeable and Serving).

 

Kampung Sawah Sempadan, 5 August 2025 – The program continued with a Community Gotong-Royong involving UPM students and villagers. This activity not only beautified the surroundings but also highlighted the spirit of cooperation and compassion between students and the rural community.

 

In the afternoon, the Read@Uni Program: TUT & Grafting of Ornamental and Fruit Trees | Ornamental Landscape Plants took place, conducted by Tuan Haji Tajuddin Abdul Manap, Director of Tok Moh Herba Enterprise (UPM retiree, 2016). He shared techniques in tree grafting and landscaping suitable for home gardens and small-scale farming.

The next session focused on financial management and business record-keeping, delivered by Tuan Haji Mat Amin Jaafar, Managing Director of Amco Niaga Sdn. Bhd. (UPM Alumni 1994 & 2022). His sharing emphasized the importance of proper financial documentation for business growth, presented in simple language with practical “real case” examples that inspired participants.

 

On the same day, the Longest Live Community Podcast in Malaysia was launched, featuring panelists from diverse backgrounds and agencies who contributed to knowledge-sharing sessions.

 

In addition, PKPP in collaboration with Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS) organized the Cakna Kesihatan Desa: Caring for the Community, Safeguarding Health program, which offered free health screenings and consultations through HSAAS Mobile Clinic services. The initiative fostered awareness of healthcare importance in rural communities in a warm and engaging setting.

 

That evening, the atmosphere was further enlivened with a Pulut Kuning Decoration Contest themed Desa Madani Lestari. Creative designs were showcased, ranging from floral and fauna motifs to a Titanic ship replica—reflecting both creativity and the cultural heritage of rural communities within the Malaysia MADANI framework.

 

Tanjung Karang, 6 August 2025 – A goodwill visit to foster families was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad, Director of PKPP UPM, together with YBhg. Dato’ Hj. Zainal Abidin Sakom (Chairman of Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan), Datin Dr. (H.C) Hajah Hartini Osman (Chairman of Yayasan Bina Kesejahteraan), and Datin Dr. Norli Hj. Alias (WAWASANITA).

The visit aimed to strengthen ties, appreciate the community, and embody MADANI values based on compassion, care, and empathy. The delegation interacted warmly with the foster families, viewed their handicrafts, and enjoyed special meals prepared by the hosts.

 

The closing ceremony was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad, accompanied by Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar and Ms. Fatin Nur Anisa Nastasya Mahamad Suri (President of Kelab Insan). Tokens of appreciation were presented to the village heads as a gesture of gratitude for their cooperation and hospitality throughout the program. With a closing prayer and group photography, the curtain fell on the Kampung Angkat Madani @ Jiwa Putra 2025 Program, leaving behind moments of harmony, togetherness, and meaning.
