SANTUNI MADANI PROGRAM 2025 @ KAMPUNG TUNKU, PETALING JAYA

February 23, 2025The University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in collaboration with the Kampung Tunku Mosque Committee, organized the Program Santuni Madani 2025 @ Kampung Tunku at Kampung Tunku Mosque, Petaling Jaya. The program saw the participation of 10 students from Team Jiwa Putra @ PKPP UPM, accompanied by two officers from UPM’s Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre (PKPP). Together with the local community, they carried out a communal cleaning activity to beautify the mosque area, starting as early as 8:00 AM.

The official launching ceremony took place at 11:00 AM and was officiated by the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, YBhg. Dato' Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah. As a symbolic gesture, he signed the inauguration plaque and presented a Jambu Delima Putra sapling to the local community as a token of appreciation and a symbol of environmental sustainability.

The Director of PKPP, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad, stated that the involvement of Team Jiwa Putra volunteers in this program demonstrates the commitment of higher education institutions in fostering a caring and harmonious society. According to him, such programs not only strengthen the relationship between students and the community but also cultivate a spirit of volunteerism and awareness of environmental cleanliness.

In addition to the communal cleaning activity, the program featured various community engagement activities involving local residents. These included knowledge-sharing sessions, motivational talks, and the distribution of aid to those in need. This initiative received positive responses from the community, who viewed it as a proactive step in strengthening ties between academic institutions and society.

With the successful execution of Program Santuni Madani 2025 @ Kampung Tunku, UPM hopes that such efforts can continue and expand to other locations in the future. This program not only benefits the local community but also nurtures responsible and socially-conscious students.
