SPIRITUAL PROGRAM: BUILDING THE MADANI CHARACTER 2025 (PHASE II)

Saturday, April 12, 2025 - the Spiritual Program: Building the Madani Character 2025 (Phase II) was successfully held at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Mosque starting as early as 3:30 AM. The participants consisted of UPM students, including the Student Representative Council, College Representative Council, leadership of UPM clubs and associations, Foundation in Science students, program committee members, residential college residents, and credit-based co-curricular course students. The program began with a Qiamullail (late-night prayer) session at 4:00 AM and was followed by congregational Subuh (dawn) prayers at 6:00 AM.



Also present to support the program was YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation. His presence was warmly welcomed by YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Vice Chancellor of UPM, along with UPM top management. All dignitaries attended the Subuh Tazkirah (religious talk) session entitled "Syawal: The Continuation of Ramadan," delivered by Ustaz Abdul Hadi Bakri Abdullah, a member of the Duat Al-Falah Secretariat, Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).



The official closing ceremony of the Spiritual Program: Building the Madani Character 2025 was officiated by YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof. The event began with a welcoming speech by YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, who expressed his appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the program. With the collaboration of all parties, the program ran smoothly and received an overwhelming response from participants.



The event continued with a forum titled "Madani Personality: Unifying the Ummah II", featuring YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah and Ustaz Abdul Hadi as panelists. The forum was moderated by Ustaz Zuhaimi Abd. Rahim. All participants gained useful knowledge and insights that could serve as guidance for self-improvement towards becoming better individuals.



Meanwhile, non-Muslim students participated in a special session held at Dewan Putra, Centre for Co-curriculum and Student Development (PKPP) UPM under the slot "Malaysia Madani Concept and the Personality of UPM Students," delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Amini Amir Abdullah, Principal of Kolej Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah (KOSASS) and Chairman of the Council of College Principals at UPM. The session aimed to empower UPM students to become holistic, competitive individuals with a Madani spirit, in line with the nation's aspirations. The main objective of the session was also to produce balanced students in terms of academics, character, leadership, and patriotism, aligned with the Malaysia Madani Concept and UPM’s student development (HEPA) strategies.
