STUDENT AND ALUMNI AFFAIRS SEMINAR 2026 (SEHEPA 2026)

Serdang, 11–12 March – The Centre for Co-Curricular and Student Development (PKPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has shown active participation in the 2026 Student and Alumni Affairs Seminar (SEHEPA 2026) which lasted for two days with the theme “Strategy . Synergy . Impact.”

This seminar brought together various divisions under the Student and Alumni Affairs (HEPA), residential colleges and related centres to share ideas, research and best practices in empowering student development and student wellbeing at the university.

On the first day of the seminar, the representative of the PKPP, Dr. Rozzamri Ashari, presented a working paper titled “Jiwa Putra KKB @ PKPP: Integrating Soft Skills And UPM Values ​​To Develop An Early Sense Of Belonging In Students.” This presentation emphasised the importance of credit-bearing co-curricular courses (KKB) as a medium to develop soft skills and foster a sense of belonging among students towards the university from the beginning of their studies.

 

On the second day of the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad also shared the findings of the study through a presentation titled “I-Hope: Advancing Holistic Student Development Through Evidence-Based Institutional Strategy.” The presentation focused on holistic student development through an evidence-based approach and a more systematic institutional strategy.

Even more proud, his presentation was selected as the Best Presentation of the Seminar and awarded the Gold Award, thus recognizing the quality of the research and the contribution of ideas in empowering the development of university students.

 

In addition, another representative of the PKPP, Mr. Dahlan Ismail Abu Bakar, also presented a study titled “Analysis of the Factors Driving the Tendency of Re-engagement in the Banjir @ Jiwa Putra Volunteer Mission Among Students of Universiti Putra Malaysia.” This study highlighted the role of the volunteer program in shaping the values ​​of empathy, leadership and social responsibility among students.

Overall, the active participation of PKPP representatives in SEHEPA 2026 reflects RMPP's continued commitment to empowering student development as a whole through co-curricular, leadership and volunteering programs that impact the university community and society.
