Serdang, 2 October 2025 – An Emergency Drill (Fire Drill) has been successfully implemented at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Student Complex to test the level of preparedness and efficiency of university staff in the event of any real emergency incident. This program is the result of strategic collaboration between three Responsibility Centers (PTJ), namely the Graduate Entrepreneurship and Employability Development Center (CEM UPM), the Co-Curriculum and Student Development Center (PKPP) and the Academic Division (KAA).
This training was conducted as part of the university's ongoing initiative to strengthen the culture of occupational safety and health among staff and students. Through the simulations implemented, participants were given practical exposure to building evacuation procedures, safety measures during emergencies, and the importance of complying with the instructions of security authorities.

In addition, this training also provided an opportunity for all members of the Student Complex to understand their respective roles during emergencies, thus improving coordination and communication between the security team, building management, and complex residents.
The organizers would like to express their deepest appreciation to the First Aid Unit, Occupational Safety and Health Management Office (PPKKP-OSH UPM) and the University Health Center (PKU UPM) for their support, guidance and technical assistance which were crucial in ensuring the smooth implementation of this training.
This integrated effort not only strengthened the level of safety awareness among the university community, but also supported UPM's goal of creating a campus environment that is safe, healthy and responsive to any emergency situation.
